Diversified Technique
When most people think of chiropractic care, they first think of a hands-on adjusting technique that is called Diversified Technique. This is the oldest chiropractic technique and was first introduced in 1895 by the founder of the profession, a man named D. D. Palmer. It involves manually manipulating joints into their proper alignment and often makes a “popping” sound when the correction is made. The “popping” sound is a release of a gas bubble that forms in the joint space fluid due to the suction between two bones. By quickly and gently releasing this suction, the chiropractor can manipulate the joint into a better alignment and improved function.
